Which is your favourite Final Fantasy character of all time! For most people this would be hard to choose as there are so many well-developed characters, so I’ll let you choose one from each, or if you’re feeling brave post your most favourite! Here are just a few of my own..

Final Fantasy VIII – Kiros / Laguna
Final Fantasy IX – Vivi / Kuja
Final Fantasy X – Seymour
Final Fantasy XII – Larsa / Balthier
Final Fantasy XIII – Hope / Lightning / Fang / Vanille (I broke, alright!)
Final Fantasy XIII-2 – Caius

  1. I must say this was a much more difficult choice than I thought it would be… I honestly think my favorite is Auron from FFX. I just thought his character was so cool, a close second would be Sephiroth.

  2. Mine would have to be:

    Final Fantasy IV – Rydia
    Final Fantasy VII – Tifa
    Final Fantasy IX – Vivi
    Final Fantasy X – Lulu
    Final Fantasy XII – Fran
Final Fantasy XIII – Hard to choose, but Vanille & Lightning.
    Final Fantasy XIII-2 – Caius

  3. I’ll jump into this a couple of days late :p

I think if I had to choose one from across the whole series, it might be Yuna. I like the way FFX turns certain archetypes on their heads – in most fantasy, you have a strong, heroic, honourable male character with a strong will to fulfill his destiny to save the world, and there’s usually a dutiful female character that vows to stay with him no matter where his path might lead.

But in FFX, it’s Yuna’s path. It might be Tidus’s ‘story’, but it’s Yuna that is going on the grand journey to stop the big bad evil entity, and it’s Tidus that vows to follow her and help her achieve her goal. And Yuna’s going on this journey despite knowing what it entails and how things will end for her – her father did it before her, after all. For me, Yuna is one of the strongest characters in the whole series.

    • You look at this from an interesting perspective, I like it. You’ve actually opened my eyes a little, as the protagonist is always generally always male and like you said about destiny and all that. Apart from XIII of course, this makes sense, good comment.
