Here come the waterworks! Every Final Fantasy has some emotion moments in them, some more emotional than others. Here we’ll be looking at some throughout the series. Warning there are *SPOILERS* if you haven’t played the games.
Final Fantasy X – The most emotional moment FFX has to be the ending when Tidus starts to fade away. You know that through towards the end of the game that this is going to happen, yet you don’t want it to. In this emotionally draining scene, you can emphasize how Yuna must feel. Especially as she goes to hug him and runs straight through him.. So sad.
Final Fantasy XII – The scene on top of the Pharos. Ashe pleading with Rasler’s ghost, Gabranth’s mocking, Vaan’s admission that revenge is not the answer over his brothers death, Ashe’s agreement with thus, all the dialogue between Cid and Balthier, especially the formers death, the ‘moment’ between Fran and Balthier, and finally Reddas’ death proved to be the pinnacle of FFXII’s writing. And all of the end when Larsa saves Gabranth.
I also found that all of Frans back story was very emotional. Especially when Fran is saying that her sister (Mjrn) must forget her existence as she is no longer with the wood (proclaimed an exile).
Fran – “Do not do this. You must remain away from the Humes. Stay with the wood. Live together with the wood. This is your way.”
Mjrn – “But Fran- My sister!”
Fran – “I am no longer of you. I have discarded wood and village. I won my freedom, yet my past has been cut away forever. No longer can my ears hear the Green Word. This… solitude you want, Mjrn?”
Mjrn – “Sister-”
Fran – “No, Mjrn. Only one sister remains to you now. You must forget my existence.”
(Mjrn runs off crying)
Final Fantasy XIII – There are a few moments in FFXIII that brought a tear to my eye..
1. Hope watching his mother die at the hands of Snow.
2. Hope then confronting snow about his mother’s death.
3. The scene where Sazh finds out that Vanille is responsible for Dajh being turned into a l’Cie.
4. The whole relationship of Vanille and Fang. Vanille making up all the lies to protect her friends.
5. The end scene with Orphan and Fang and Vanille sacrificing themselves to save Cocoon (at the end).
Final Fantasy XIII-2 – I must admit, not even I thought Square Enix would have done this. The shocking ending that was FFXIII-2 where Serah dies. We knew that she would eventually succumb to death from her being able to see into the future. We just didn’t think it was gonna happen. Another emotion part for those that paid the rip off to watch the end of the story, where you have to keep fighting Caius with Lightning. Once you beat him there is a cutscene which basically shows Lightning saying goodbye to Serah. And preserving her memory as best she knows how, by becoming a crystal. I think was one of the most emotional moments because Serah was in this from the start of FFXIII. I mean she triggered the game to be what it was. A bit of a shock to the system this one.
There are of course many more, such as Aeris’ death from FFVII. Let me know your most emotional moments from Final Fantasy by commenting below!

In FFIX where Blank gets petrified in the Evil Forest while trying to protect Zidane
Ah I forgot about that one! Yeah that was pretty sad. But they managed to unpetrify him so it’s all good! Haha
I like the music scene 1000 words. When you find out about what happened to the girl whose dress sphere yuna wears. Emotional!
I haven’t played X-2 in ages, but I vaguely remember it!
